Mother Ayahuasca is sacred medicine of the Amazon since at least 5000 years ago. It is used by more than 70 ethnic groups that inhabit the forest's largest planet, remain the basis of their traditional medicine and its worldview. The ancient ceremony of Ayahuasca is a rite of cleansing, healing and knowledge that survives thousands of years. Always takes place at dusk and lasts for about five or six hours. Participants are seated in a circle, silently, and take medicine on an individual basis, starting effects (mareación) past thirty minutes (more or less depending on each person). The ceremony is guided by chants (ICAR) in the "ayahuasquero." Requirements to participate in a ceremony Ayahuasca:
- Being an adult.
- Group minimum of 2.
- Refrain from eating pig meat and derivatives, as well as alcohol, cannabis or other drugs.
