Five months ago I took a trip to Peru. I had no solid reasons for leaving the States. I had just moved to New York. Been there for three months only. But thoughts of Peru grew into my mind. I would see the word Peru many times a day. Peru The idea grew and grew until the intuition had to be acted upon, and I bought a plane ticket to Lima. When I told my family and friends about my decision, I encountered many words of warning and aversion. Many people did not want me to go. My parents pleaded. My friends looked worried. But still I managed to follow the signs.

And so you can imagine the process of intuition- the synchronicities, the turning days which wound me around until one day I found myself in the beautiful jungle greeted by the graceful faces of Fernando and Kuitzi.

Ten days I dieted with Chiric Sanango and Ayahuasca. With words it is hard to describe the experience. What I can say is that I have much gratitude for my time spent with the plants. It was good. What began as a casual idea of a trip became a journey into forgiveness and knowledge. I am most thankful for the friendship Fernando and Kuitzi gave me. The plants have teachings, sure. And if you are drawn towards them they will teach you as far as your respect for them extends. But to be in the presence of such beautiful souls, Kuitzi y Fernando, gave me so much. So to work with the plants with them was a wonderful way to start my journey of ayahuasca. Always I could trust them. I knew they were watching after me. And this was important for my dieta.

Still the process is unfolding. And I come to trust these days more and more. Forever grateful to my friends in the jungle, to the vine and the flower, to the little animal that came to me in the dark one night after a ceremony, to all the people I met through ayahausca, and all the things she has gives us. From my heart to you all.
